"Try to convince him": Zverev fights for collaboration with "Uncle Toni"

Alexander Zverev would like to have Rafael Nadal's uncle Toni on his coaching team. At the tournament in Toronto, Germany's top tennis pro discusses his chances.
After his first-round exit at Wimbledon, Zverev trained for ten days at Rafael Nadal's tennis academy in Mallorca, gaining valuable advice from the former world number one and his uncle. "He has a personality that can give you a lot of self-confidence, because when he speaks, and when Rafa speaks, you listen," said Zverev, recounting conversations that lasted several hours, some of which lasted "until after midnight."
Zverev is convinced that Toni Nadal can bring him a step closer to his long-awaited first Grand Slam title. "If he can maximize what I have and maximize the potential I have, I'm sure I can achieve much more success in my career," said the Hamburg native.
At the Masters tournament in Toronto, Zverev is seeded number one following the withdrawals of top players Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. After a first-round bye, the German will face Australian Adam Walton in his first match. "I think at this stage, it's all about winning and trying to maximize what I have and what I can become," Zverev said.
